Anyone know what causes this? I notice it in females only. It looks like soemtimes after they give birth they start turning white from the nose back until the whole body is white and then they die. I have had this happen a few times.

I breed guppies and I have come across this a few times in the past.I am not sure if this is what has happen to your fish.I would need a picture or more details.I personal believe that it is a combination of stress and water conditions.I do two things now if this happens to one of my fish .I either isolated it and try antibiotics or destroy the fish .It depends on the fish and the condition. After all these years I still hate to have to kill any fish.A lot of times if correct the water conditions the fish might live but sometimes it is just too late.I don't know how many tanks you have (there never seems to be enough tanks with guppies)but a female goes through a lot of stress during the birth process and should get some time to rest before putting her back with those sex crazed males.I am not sure if I helped ,hope I did and if anyone else has any other ideas let us know.Good luck!

Seen that thing happening before although can't confirm what it is,sounds like bacterial infection, notice when a fish dies or is going to,it sheds its scales or turn white.

That always happened to guppies that I bought, after a few days, they started to get very pale and die.
