What size tank? A pleco is usually your best bet... It may outgrow your tank though in which case you can trade it in to the LFS for a smaller one.
The one thing to be carfeul of is starving a Pleco. I think this happens far more often than people realize.

if you are getting spot algae, it is quite hard for any fish to rubbed it off. there is really no fish that will eat it. scraping is best idea.

The common trade pleco should do the job just fine. Make sure it is big enough to not fit in the mouth of any of your fish.

CB is right, it is spot algae and the fish are not strong enough to eat it off. A razor blade works great. This magnet also is great. It is very very strong.
