Will it grow in a 75 gallon aquarium with only 32 watts? That's all I want in this aquarium. I've heard that Java Moss will grow in pretty dark lighting. Is this true?

I think so. I have something taking over my tanks that people said was probably java moss. It seems to be pretty hardy.

I've never had any java moss not make it anywhere. I remember I had these chunks of driftwood I didn't want to use in my tank, so I put them in a 5gal bucket at my laundry room for later use and they had a bit of javamoss... months later I check and the javamoss grew with NO care at all. In my 55gal it's becoming a plague :X

Well, I went ahead and bought some. I just put it in and can't really say if it will do well or not yet. Sounds like it will and am very anxious to see it grow. I tried growing some before but it just turned brown because I planted it in big clumps. Now I'm trying to plant in small clumps to see what will happen. I hope it gets really nice and thick.

It has been my experience that most of the mosses end up being called "Java Moss." And, I am as guilty of this as anyone else. Luckily, they are all hardy, at least that has been my experience.
My personal favorite is actually Taiwan Moss. I found it in a bargain-wholesale fish warehouse in the bay area. It was mislabeled "Java Moss." I was lucky, Taiwan moss is usually much more pricey!
With good light, nutrients and conditions, you will soon be giving away handfuls to friends. I really question classifying "Java Moss" as slow growing!
