gravel cleaning problem

I am having a problem cleaning the gravel in my 10g tank. The gravel vac that I have is too tall. I was unable to find any shorter ones in my area. Anyone have any suggestions?

if the tube is too tall couldn't you just cut it down with a sarated (steak) knife or a hobby knife? Is the tube too tall, or do you have insufficent suction due to water pressure or a hose that is too long?

yeah I'll just go buy another one and cut it shorter. The one I have now is good for my larger tank. The place where the water goes through into the tube doesn't even reach the water in my smaller tank.
