I have a 10g with a group of six neons and one Dwarf Flame Gourami. But 1 tetra has faded red coloring that kind brightens up in little spots. He is the largest and oldest tetra in the tank.
He s this way bc he was the only one to survive a tank transfer mishap. He was raised with the gourami and prefers the gouramis company over the other tetras.
I was wondering if anyone new what the cause of its discoloration could be.
Thanks for Your Help.

Does it have like a whitish area in the back? if there is any whitish coloration, this might be a sign of Neon Tetra disease.
Here is one link to NTDs.
http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/disease/p/neondisease.htm

Give it a read and it will help.

It doesnt seem to be NTD. It doesnt match any of the symptoms escept for loss of coloration. Im going to quarantine it anyway just be sure and watch to see the outcome.

Thanks for the help.
