Hi! I was researching pics of koi ponds because I want to paint a fake pond on a large flat rock...

Anyhow, I came across this site which shows before/after pics of a pool that was converted to a pond (bottom of page). It looks absolutely dreamy!

I figured I'd post a picture of my pond as it's been a while...

I can't convince my husband to let me convert the pool to a koi pond- he's worried about "resale" value.
Bah!!
He has no imagination....

*drool* Yeah, Joe, that's awesome.

I'm convinced. I guess what I have to do first is get a pool. Then pretend I'm tired of it (I'll make this look real and give it, oh, 1 or 2 weeks) and then have it turned into a pond.

kveeti, I guess you know that pond pic I like is from the website you posted... It's about good enough to use as a 'background' pic for the computer -- since I know I will never have one of those like that one for real....!

On that pond, it looks like you can walk either left or right from the house to get to the rest of the yard... Very nice, and unique! :)

Very cool..I like that 'pond under the porch' one too. I wonder how deep that converted pool is. Seems you could keep some big catfish, gar, pike, bass in that bad-boy.

I did after you posted it. I didn't see it originally. After I found the picture I was looking for (the koi pond), I saw the bottom pool pic and that was about as far as I went. This is the pond and fish I am going to paint:

I don't know if I'll ever have an inground pond. I was thinking I'd like a pond (with goldfish) in one of those old bathtubs with the claw feet, if I could find one at a good price. All I have right now is a marsh (it's lined like a pond to keep the arrowhead roots wet):

We have one of those black heavy moulded plastic ponds in the ground. It didn't cost much at all.. I'm not sure how these things hold up in freezing weather though..
Do you have any more painted rocks to share?

Just working on cats (currently #11), mostly grey or yellow tabbys, like my avatar. I'm going to do a bulldog next, because it is soooo cute.

You could paint a dachshund if you have a long rock! :D

That would look funny! ......

I dug an 1800 gallon pond in my backyard a few years ago:

*green with envy*

OK, say no more, you're hired!

Is the big-leaf plant to the left elephant ears?

It doesn't look like my Elephant Ears -- the plant that is -- my ears are normal! :D

Well, after I'm done here, I'll have to go take a closer look at your pic in Mugshots. :)

No, I guess it doesn't look like my plant by that name either. Just couldn't think of what else it could be with those big leaves; and elephant ears likes its feet damp...
