I was told to cox my africans to breed, i should do a 50% water change and clean up, then fill and empty with new water 6 days in a row and over feed them. could this be bad?

Keeping a clean tank will help but my africans(malawi) breed on a regular basis with just weekly 25% water changes.
How big(or old) are you africans and what kind are you hoping to breed. ONce they are sexually mature you won't have to do anythign to get them to breed besides having males and females.

Well if you have 2 red zebras make sure one is a female and one is a male. and with 5 auratus you should have some females and males(you may have to get rid of excess males). Then you jsut have to wait untill they are mature. That is usually about 2"+(butsome like rusties can breed at 1"). Once they are big enough they will start to breed, and once they start you will son become over run with fry(if you choose to keep them)

Well how big are yours? And what species are they?
I have Rusties thatare breeding at only 1" but i also have Lab.perlmutts that are 2"+ and not breeding. I jsut depends. They will start when they are ready

well with the auratus I have 3 normals and 2 albinos (couldn't resist how cool they look) and I would like to see an albino go with aa normal but I could care less. I got an albino with one at 1.5' and another at 2' while the the normals are at 1' and a little bit above. I'd love to get a pic of the but mom went to arizona so I'm outa luck. I'll take a pic right away on the 10th if it helps.
