baby whales with pale heads help!

i have 2 baby whales(Petrocephalus bovei) and they have been fine for ever since i got them but i just noticed latly that both of them just there heads have goten very pale. i am at a loss. what could be happening?

Not familiar with that breed, but what are the water parameters? Did it happen after a water change or anything? I have a pleco that turns whitish after every water change. Scares the dickens out of me but he's always okay.
