thanks dragon........
the bifas on the right came from a board member who got it from Rapps. The other one (left) was originally bought 2 years ago from a LFS as a 2" Synspilum. So, I'm not certain of its "purity".

thanks Sayers.........
the Bleekeri (and their small spot cousin Polleni) are from Madagascar, but have the temperament of a CA-SA cichlid. Their unique black coloration makes them just that....unique.
I highly recommend them.
BTW, I have marveled at your male Synspilum for some time......

Sorry to hijack the tread, but yes the synspillum and the nicaraguense on your website sayers are to die for.
:bowing:
gregga, i like the bleekeri, i'm partial to dark-colored fish with irredecent/colored spots. Like jack dempseys too.

Hey, thanks to both of you for that! :)
I've been hoping the Synspilum would breed, they have been acting like they want to, but no luck so far. They can't seem to settle on a good spot in the 180 gallon tank. The breeding Midas seem to keep things too stirred up.
A few days ago I moved two of the Nics to a 55 to try and breed them. They have bred a few times in the 180 but could not protect the fry. The two in the 55 now just lay on the bottom and hide and won't eat. Arghh! :shake:
