Ehiem Pre Filter ?

Has anyone used the Ehiem Prefilter? I'm considering using it with a Filstar 2 for a Bio only filter with a second Filstar 2 as the mechanical filter on a 75. With appropiate media in both. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

I use them- they are one fantastic gizmo!!
The piece with the filter media lifts right out of the housing for very easy rinsing. I try to rinse mine several times a week, and it really cuts down on the amount of schmutz that reaches the filter.

I like using the FilterMax III prefilter (costs about $8 at ThatPetPlace or PetSolutions). It fits Eheim intake tubes and uses a foam cylinder as the medium. Very easy to use/clean.

Agree w/Jim. I have a couple of the Eheim units, but the FilterMax is IME more effective and more user friendly.

I use that eheim prefilter, what I like about it is that it sits on the gravel.
