As I was checking out my tank this evening after the lights had kicked off for the night with only the LED moonlight on I noticed something moving on top of one of the larger pieces of LR that I had just purchased yesterday, Thinking instantly of turning on the lights to investigate then stopped thinking well whatever it is its nocturnal and if I turn on the lights it would disappear, I grabbed a small LED keyring flashlight knowing that the light from it wouldn't be so bright discovered a peppermint shrimp going to town on some green algae growing on the rock! Thinking WOW score! I noticed on the other side was yet another eating what appeared to be an aptasia anemone. or at least appeared that it was stabbing it to death with its small claws. how long can these little guys last out of water because I had just bought the LR yesterday and it was about 3 hours or so before I could get it in the tank. anyone else ever had any of these little guys hitching a ride? I will post pics as soon as I can get one!!

Nice score if its a peppermint. Read up on pistol shrimp and mantis shrimp because it may be one of them instead and then its not a good thing if you plan on keeping fish in there.

No they are Peppermint's I researched for about 2 hours the other night. looks just like in the pics!
