Airpump or Powerhead??..

Just a general question for anyone. Personally I have had many problems with airpumps.....they just don't last, very noisy, go through too many rubber diaphrams, etc. Is the extra money for Power heads worth it?

What are you trying to use them for?? I would say powerhead in pretty much either a aeration or circulation situtation. I use a 250 GPH on my 55 and it keeps a nice current in the tank, and you can hook an airline up to it which will inject oxygen directly into your tank. Works pretty well i think...i inject mine with my DIY c02 and it works good.

just for a little circulation and oxygen. I know powerheads are usually combined with ugf, but they seem to work really well.
I bought an elite 802 air pump and after 2 months both diaphrams ripped and had to be replaced.
