How hard is it to breed Clownfish in captivity, and what kind of setup would I need to do this successfully? Thanks in advance for any advice!

It's really easy to get an established pair to breed- the hard part is feeding the fry- you'll need to culture rotifers and nannochloropsis.
Google can help you here.

There is a fantastic book by Frank Hoff, Conditioning, Spawning and Rearing of Fish With Emphasis on Marine Clownfish , that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know.
But I think Cearbhaill summed it up nicely.

I have been breeding clownfish for about a year now. The only hard part is getting your rotifer numbers up to a high density. Once you have rotifers the rest is pretty straight forward. I setup a site explaining how I have been breeding clownfish - http://www.breedclownfish.com (http://www.breedclownfish.com). Hope this helps.

Howie, I was just looking at your web site. sounds like a fun thing to do. Are the baby clowns safe i a reef tank or would it be better to raise them in something else?

They really should be raised in a separate smaller tank. It makes it easier for the babies to get to the food. They make nice fish food so I wouldn't have them around any other fish that might think it is meal time.

Dang it, now I want to breed some clowns and also start a copepod tank for feeding.
