I was in my lfs today and picked up a tablespoon of blackworms. The guy at the store said to keep them a container in the fridge without water and wash them 1x/day. When i rinse them should i use dechlorinated water or tap water? How long do they stay alive? Should I feed them anything? I fed them to both of my tanks so far and they love them. Also should I do this daily or jsut make it an every now and them treat?

Also, on another note I was looking at getting a couple swordtails for my 30 gal tank. One male and two females. In the tank currently is three painted tetras, one betta, two angels, and two cories. How would they do? I really liked the vibrant colors of them. If they would not go well with the fish in that tank I have a 10 with 3 baby tiger barbs and a striped raphael.

Thanks guys!

they need water, just not too deep. i wash mine with pond water, you can use cold declorinated water and i wash then with tap water before feeding. they start using up their own boby for nutrients without food so you should feed use them up in the first few days i have had some live a week. dont fed them just daily rinsing and change their water.

both your tanks have fin nippers, so you can try it and see if the swordtails get attacked.

I change my worm water every day using dechlorinated cold water and each batch will last about a month. They can be constipating to fish that aren't dedicated carnivores so feed every other day or less to those species.
