WHAT ARE THE TWO FEELER LIKE THREADS THE GUORMIS HAVE I WAS JUST WATCH MY NEW HONEY ONE AND AS ANOTHER FISH APPROACHED IT TI SEEMED TO USE THESE TO PUSH IT AWAY WHAT ARE THEY FOR.
Oooo. Turn off the caps lock there please.
Those are just modified pectoral fins. They can be used by the gourami to probe things. I see my gouramis poke around with them as well. I even see him swat my flying fox from time to time.

lol..
But to answer your question, The feelers on a gourami are just that..."feelers." In other words, they use them to feel their surroundings. They probably evolved these modified pelvic fins to help them find their way around in dark, murky, or even muddy water that these fish many times can be found in, in the wild. This is also why they delveloped their labyrinth organ...these 'murky' waters are many times very deficient in oxygen.

they are also used for tasting. That way they can touch it first to decide whether they should swallow it or not.
