I have a couple questions, I recently added a Blue Ribon Eel to my tank 2 weeks ago, and a Elegance Coral. I am having trouble getting the Eel to eat, I have tried feeding it Krill, and Other Frozen Mixed foods. I was thinking about getting some feeder shrimp and trying that? any sugguestions. The Elegance coral, is green in the center part of the coral, with pink/purple tips on the tenticles, but recently it is always BLOWN up like a balloon. Is this normal? or should I be checking something?

Thanks!

Welcome to Aquaria Central! Talk about picking tough ones! I actually just changed my avatar which has my pic of my Black Ribbon Eel (I will post a pic though) but my guy eats everything and anything. The way I got my guy to eat was by using raw shrimp, frozen cocktail shrimp, imitation crab meat, and scallops. Try these and if this fails then try the ghost shrimp.
As for the Elegance they have been impossible to keep in the past 2 years because it is believed they are being collected from deep waters now days. Don't know why it is puffing up but it is trying to do something. Just make sure you are adding supplements and everything to feed it. Anyway, hope this helps and here is a pic of the Ribbon.

I have had a blue Ribbon eel for over two years now, the only thing he will eat is blue damsels. I struck a deal with a local fish store for a reduced price on them. He eats about 4 a week!!!!!!!!!
