I don't like the big plastic things on the bottom of "fake" plants. When I clean the gravel, they get knocked out of place. Can I safely take them off and tie one of my husband's fishing lead weighs on to hold them down? Will the lead weighs affect my water? Ph? I've tried the plant weighs but it takes so many for a big plant, plus I can see it. Does anyone have a better idea?

There are several lines of artificial plants that have a weighted base. The Living World brand is the one I like the best. The plants are silk and look fantastic.

I've also used silicon to attach the plants to larger rocks with pretty good success.

Thanks, I had never thought of trying to silicon gravel, ect. to the plant bottom. Will give it a try!!!! I do use silicon to cover ghost houses with gravel for my clowns. They love them.
Thanks, Anna

Is glue from a hot-glue gun tank safe? The little package that the sticks come in says "100% Non-toxic" but in case I ever need to glue anything that goes into a tank, I'd rather be safe.
