I have 2 read eyed tetras in a community tank. One is fat and one is thin. The fat one is much bigger. Does this mean one is male and one is a female? If I put them in a small tank of thier own will they breed? I have had them for at least 2 years.

Thank you for any information.

no expert on redeyes but I'd be more inclined to believe one is eating better than the others. I have one bloodfin that is 3 times the size of my other two. Same with my glowlights. Kyle

I also have 2 red eyed tetras (Rizzo and Larry). Rizzo is like 3 times bigger than Larry. Seems as though Rizzo has gotten bigger since I bought them about 1 1/2 years ago. Larry however has remained small even though he eats like a pig. I don't know why.
