I have gotten good use out of my eclipse hood over the past 3 years or so. I have gone from the exitement over my first tank to a better understanding of what plants need.

I want to replace the hood so I can have more light and have it better distributed over the tank.

But I would need a new filter, any recomendations? what do you use on your planted tanks?

most people go canister for planted tanks. i use a spongefilter powered by a small waterpump so it get water circulation but not much surface movement.

dont ditch the hood just add a sponge to the intake and slow down the flow and lose the wheel and add some bio balls to that chamber .Add a a-h supply 2x13w kit dont need the reflectors just the 14.95 kit add them to the side of the filter compartment.
