pearl gourami sexing question

i have had for a year and i got about that size so im guessing on how long they would take to get that size plus a year so i had an uneducated guess on that one but i thought the dorsal was to small for a male it has the coloration but not the finnage anyways it was sold to me as a male so I geuss im a little mad i was hoping to try and breed them maybe thats why they never did lol

I have pearl gouramies. 3 females and a male. My male has a longer, pointed dorsal fin and the lovely fringe fins.

I thought it was harder to find female pearl gouramies when I was looking for them. However, even with the 3/1 ratio, mine have never spawned. I am assuming that the conditions in my tank are not right. There is probably too much water movement, too few floating plants and too many other fish in the tank. This male, handsome as he is, has never made any kind of a bubble nest.
