Hi all,

I recieved a tank a month ago, and i'm finally read to 'add some pretty fish," says the pet store lady... I'm totally cycled, with all of my levels at 0. I used the following fish for cycling (in a 44 gallon hex)

- 3 Black Finned Tetras
- 2 Beunos Aries Tetras
- 2 Giant Danios (had to be added to **** of this one Beunos Aries who was absolutly terrorizing the tank, worked great :))

I'm looking for some VERY colorful fish, hopefully some which will be slightly larger . Any suggestions?

Also, I have this fear of my fish having fry, my question is this.. what does one do when they do? Can you really sustain a tank with dozens of extra fish?

Best,
Evan

if all you care about is color, you should have gotten a salt water set up:cool:

only fish I would expect to have fry that survive with out special help are livebearers like guppies, platies, swordtails, and mollies. Even livebearers need some hiding places for the fry to survive like some plants.

or possibly cichlids like convicts, angels... they raise their own young... but alot of cichlids get to big for the tank you have.

what is your ph, temperature and decorations in your tank like?

that would help narrow what would better survive in your tank
