found a liquid fert for aquarium an off brand at new lfs but it didn't sound right, I wrote the specs down but not the name... I know im smart like that.

Can this be used? I'm thinking it is mislabeled

Total Nitrogen 9.00%
----9.00% Ammoniacal Nitrogen
Available Phosphate P2O5 12%
Soulabe Potash (K2O) 12%

Derived from: Ammonium Sulfate, Ammonium Phosphate, Muriate of Potash

to me, those numbers resemble that which you would find in a terrestrial plant fertilizer.

You are right to be skeptical. You do not want to use NH4+ (ammonium) in the aquarium. You do want to use it for terrestrial house plants however.

In the aquarium it is a great way to kill any fish or inverts.

What is the recommended dosage??

recomended was high, i got it and tried on small goldfish...

there went 28 cents lol

You tried on goldfish??? Goldfish do not need ferts.

Please chart the goldfish growth in metrics. Male goldfish don't grow as fast when measured in inches. Please adjust to water temperature.

This experiment should be terminated, the ammonium will harm and or kill the fish.

I wanted to know if it would be toxic I used 3 granules perhaps 1/3 gram in 20 ounces of water with one feeder goldfish and a air stone...

it was still too much... so oh well... goldfish bit the dust

sorry goldfish lovers but it was a feeder after all..

next time, just ask. pretty sure it was a unanimous consensus to not use it anyway. there was no need to "try it out" on live fish.
