Does anyone have unusually high KH or carbonate hardness? My tank stays around 15 mg/l. I know how to add it but not sure if being too high is a bad thing. I believe it should be between 10 and 12mg/l.

If interested to see what I add check out the thread on supplements.

Thanks in advance!

Reef Former is basically liquid Kalkwasser. I used to use Kalk then I switched to this. I am not so sure I see different results at this point. If you want to see exactly what it is visit here.

My calcium sits around 480. I actually have quit dosing reef former for a week to see if it comes down but its always unusually high. At this point I don't see adverse effects but I wasn't sure where everyone elses level of KH sits at.

Thanks for any additional info you could give me.

I'm still puzzled. The one problem I've had with kalkwasser is that my alkalinity has been lower than with 2 part additives.

You might cut back on the dosage, and go for a Ca of 450, and see what happens.
