I realize there are proprietary products for conditioning RO/DI water to make it safe for freshwater fish. I'm a bit of a DIY nut so I wanted to do it myself if I could. I recently found a recipe for this, and was looking for some input.

The recipe:
1 tsp. Epsom Salt,
1.5 tsp. Baking Soda,
O.5 tsp Potassium Chloride,
2 600mg Calcium Carbonate tablets.
all ingredients are per 10 gallons.

I have a couple of questions.

Could anyone tell me what level of dKH and dGH this would result in (soft water or hard)?

Also, the Epsom salt and baking soda are easy to find but the Potassium Chloride and Calcium Carbonate are proving a little more difficult. The products I've found are not pure.

The "purest" KCl I could find included the following ingredients: Fumaric acid, Tricalcium phosphate, and Monocalcium phosphate.

The purest CaCo3 I was able to find included Cholecalciferol (Vit D), Croscarmellose, Cellulose coating, and Vegetable Magnesium Sterate. I know that tablets are used, and these had the least ingredients but are these ingredients safe?

I'm sure the quantities of these inactive ingredients would be miniscule in the reconstituted water, but I don't know enough about them to make that decision.

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
