I have a apple snail in my 10 gallon FW, last day my wife called me and told me the snail was dead ! When i came back from work, the snail was "walking" just fine ? She said he was close and was floating .

This morning i saw him my self, he is close and get move around by the water return from the HOB, i dont know if he is ok right now cause i am at the job.

Is this common from snail to float, or is he dying ?

i don't know about apple snails but the common pond snail i have float when ever they lose there grip on somthing and I've noticed that they have little air bubbles in there shells.......not a problem (at least for CP snails)

This came from www.applesnail.net:

"My snail is floating around for a day now. Is he/she dead or what? What should/can I do?
Well, apple snails can be very inactive for days (see answer above this one) and if they have a lot of air in their lung, they float (sounds logical isn't it?). Floating of an apple snail doesn't indicate that there is something wrong or that he/she is dead."

The website is really awesome, you would do well to check it out.
