nitrate nitrite and ammonia evrything except nitrate was at zero and nitrate was a t the fsit bow i forgot wat i said he still has the kit i think it was 20ppm tho it was the lowest on the AP test kit chart

most people use convict fry for fish food so they prob wont know how long it takes convict fry to grow. it would depend on the environment they are in, food availability and water conditions. i used to ahve these bugggers but sold them as they jsut didnt stop breeding... ive got electric yellows, and from what i have observed they grow at about the same speed, maybe the cons a little faster. id say to get to about 1cm, id say 1 month to 1.5 months. maybe even less depending on what u feed em :O

They don't grow all that fast. Puma and I have had ours for over a month, they have been getting fed a new food out called Golden Pearls, higher protein than baby brine, and it simulates brine shrimp in the water by suspending the the water column, but boy does that stuff have an odor, lol. Ours are just pushin past the 1cm mark, good thing about convicts is a sellable size is about an inch, but they aren't money makers, anyone with a tank and water can get them to spawn, (tank+water+male and female convict= Population boom) We are also doing 1 or 2 water changes a week, each 30% or so. Talking with a few people around here who have bred stuff they also concure that convicts are pretty slow growing.
