I just got in some glo-fish. I work at a saltwater store here, but we tend to make special orders for freshwater fish the big chains around town don't carry. I brought in 5 of the little guys for one of my tanks at home. They are in an aerated bucket, chilling out right now. Even just under the lights in the room and against the white of the bucket the color is pretty striking. Anyone else gotten any yet?

Oh wow! On a whim I took the small compact flourescent lamp off the minireef on the desk and put it over the bucket and they looked like neon! I'm certainly impressed! :D

Got any pics? Haven't seen them around here yet, only seen them in magazine and on tv.I would like to see a real persons pic to see what they would actually look like in tanks.

At the moment I don't have a camera with me, but I will probably borrow a friend's this weekend and post some pics.

I saw some at the pet store today. They had really deformed spines (like danios sometimes get). But all of them had this. Could have been the batch or something but it really put me off.

My LFS has em and they do get the deofrmed spine and I am very unimpressed with the color. Maybe the LFS has the wrong lighting???

My LFS sells them for $10 on sale. They were originally $19.99

Some LFS are just crap period. LOL
I mean, I have been to some where all you see is deformed fish so no, this isn't related to the "mutant fish", it is a poor selection of fish. This LFS is the same kind that sell runts, such as stunted Goldfish. tssskk tsk....:p
I have Glo-Fish and love them. Their colors are just as good (if not better) than the ones on the glo-fish website. I wish I had some pictures on hand but I dont as the only working camera I have is a webcam and even that can't reach the tanks. Go figure, huh?

I've got a friend coming over either tomorrow or Sunday with a digital camera so I should have pics up by the end of the weekend. I should comment that, aside from the brilliant color, none of my fish look like anything other than perfectly healthy danios. No unusual spines or deformities at all. I'm quite eager to be getting them into my tank here, but I like to give all my fish a "cooling off" period before I put them in my own tanks. I know I should probably give them a true quarantine, but this is probably the next best thing.
Oh! By the way, all 5 fish were eating like pigs less than 30 minutes out of the bag. I'm referring to the bag they came in from the distributor, mind you. They'd probably been in there a good 12 hours.
