Oscars grow extremely fast. Before you know it. The fish is 10 inches.

Jd's tend to grow in spurts at first them level off to a slower steadier pace. At least from what I have experienced with my breeding pairs and fry.

Definitely oscars. They can grow over an inch per month until they are well over a foot long.

if your thinking of keeping them when the JD is fully grown the oscar will be in hell but then again it is different with each fish.

Not to beat a dead horse, but oscars do grow faster, you can control it somewhat with rationed feeding, but they will grow,

dont know if this is true, but my brother used to keep an oscar when he was younger, and would keep the fish in a tank according to the size the fish was at the time. ie started out with a 5 gallon, then moved up to a 10, then 20, ... 55. anyways the oscar lived about 8 years, and never got bigger than 8 inches.

eight nches long

20 gallon is way too tiny for a oscar
