i picked up two of these cool looking balls of moss from my lps. it was listed as a moss ball. i was woundering if anyone had any experiance with this plant. the guys at the store said it was easy to care for. i would also like to knwo if i could pull the ball apart and use it as a fore ground plant? thanks for your time

Despite the warning of the need for high light and CO2 mentioned in the referenced thread, I did get a couple from RPH and they have been doing fine in moderate light with Excel and other supplements.

Ditto what RTR said.
Mine are doing well in a very low light/low tech environment- not growing much but staying a nice healthy green all around.

Kasselman seems to say that temp is more critical than light.They do particularly well in cold water, and in extreme high temps would probably not do so well. They grow in mountain lakes in Japan, in Iceland and northern Europe.

Hm... are you sure you want a PAIR of algae balls? Maybe a third would be less um... prone to the imagination?
