Pictures of my two fish tanks

This is a 5 gallon bow frount with a Java Fern, Some Canomba a bannana plant and a pennywort. The only animals in here are a couple of ghost shrimp. I haven't quite decided what to put in here fish wise. I though of a few hatchet fish, or some small
danios or tetras. Any suggestions? This is my first planted tank

20 gallon glass tank with 4 rosey barbs, 1 emerald cory,1 albino cory, 1 peppered cory and three black neon tetras.

another question. Should I trim those canomba eventally or just let them grow. They seem to grow new shoots all over the place so the "canopy" of the plants would not be entirely at the top.

What is that red thing below and to the left of the java fern? There is a weird looking white thing, too... Is that a twig in the background?

Love the planted tank, I'm not criticizing, just curious!

The white stuff is quartz, the twigs were on the backing of the aquarium but I thought they looked a bit lame so I removed them. It's solid black now and looks a bit better.
