Will Botia loaches dig up plants in sand?

Specifically, Onyx sand. I'm trying to make up my mind what substrate to use since I want to go planted but I will not give up my loaches (clowns, yo-yo, zebra).
Anyone have problems with them dislodging plants?

My clowns dont dig up my plants yet (they are only 3" ) but they do occasionally pop holes in my swords.

most loaches arn't big diggers, but do stir up the sand from time to time with their endless activity.

My clowns are almost 3" too.

emoore, they put holes in your swords? I've seen some awesome red rubins I'd like to get but will the loaches destroy them or just occassional holes (which I would hope could be stopped by feeding veggies)?

none of my loaches bother my plants, but they are all under 4". i have read that large clowns can be a menace in regard to digging up live plants.

i've got a digger !!!
my 3 inch clown constantly is digging through the substrate but i have gravel - he hasn't bothered the plants though - i think he is looking for scraps when he's nosing through everything
