I've had a few stalks of anacharis for about a week now. Although I see bright green new growth, some of the older stalks are turning a brownish color, and some of the tips of leaves are turning dark brown. My java moss and watersprite are doing fine.

I dose every other day with Flo. Excel and twice a week with reg. Flourish.
Lighting is a 14 watt fluorescent on a 5.5 gallon (roughly 2.5 wpg), 12-14 hours a day. Fish co-inhabitants are 3 julii cories, a few ghost shrimp, and 1 small paradise fish. Temp. is kept to 75*F.

that is one of those plants I stay away from they ALLWAYS fall apart and mess my tanks up good.
I'm not saying I cant grow it just cant keep it from completely falling apart in my tank before it come back.
Your water sprite should outgrow your tank in a few weeks I have a water sprite that takes up (completly fills) 1/2 my 65g.
I would look for some baby anubias, crypts or micro swords.
For $15 shipped I'll send you like 5-6 diff kinds of small/slow growing plants (fill your tank).
