what food have you used to promote growth quickest - i am trying some new life spectrum stuff - it is bringing out some colors in the fish
want my angels to grow as big as possible as qucik as poss
Use a variety of prepared foods, preferably for several brands - on the theory that what one lacks, the other may have in excess. feed 2-3 small meals daily, at least one being live or frozen/thawed/rinsed. Change 1/3 of the water every other day at least, checking to be sure nitrate is no more than 10-15ppm, or set an autochanger to do it for you. Allow 15-20 gallons per fish for max growth rate.

you said frozen/thawed/rinsed-- why the rinsed?
Seems like that would take away from the nutrients? But I can see where it would probably keep your water cleaner.
Indy - you got it in one. The "nutrients" in the melted ice are unavailable to the fish (FW fish rarely drink), therefore are nothing more than tank pollution, increasing the bioload for no gain. So to me it is better to remove them beforehand, rather than counting on the biofilters and water changes afterward to do so.
When I'm rearing fry, it makes a significant diference in my water quality and my required maintenance.
