I have been thinking of adding Reef Vital DNA (Mark Weiss) to my FOWLR tank. I heard it will help with the Coraline Algae and make my live rock sing! Does anyone have experience with this?

Welcome to Aquaria Central! Honestly I used to use it but quickly stopped because it looks exactly like the stuff that skimmers take out of the water and my skimmer would go like crazy absorbing all the stuff after it was put in (I tried this a couple of times to see), so now I only use Marine Snow by Julian Sprung I believe (or maybe Two little fishes, I can't remember off hand). Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

I've been told not to do it because it will promote not only coraline but also nusance algea. I don't know if it's true because I've never used it.

I'd just go with Kalkwasser or a 2 part Bionic calcium/alkalinity supliment. It will make your coraline grow just as quickly, provided you have atleast some moderate light.

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't too sure because there is nothing listed as ingredients. It could be Gin? Maybe that will help the Live Rock. It sure makes me sing!
