I bought a Tronic 50 watt heater for my 10 gallon tank.

On the package I couldn't find any information if it is a truely submersable heater.

The lady at the LFS said it was, but I noticed on the heater itself it had a "max level" line which in my head tells me that I can only put it in the water so deep.

Now if any tronic owners could tell me if I can submerge the entire unit and have the cord being the only thing coming out of the water that would be great!

Thanks

Tronics are fully submersible. Some law here says that everything has to have a max water line even if it is fully submersible. If you look you can find them on Ebo-Jagers and Thermal-Compacts also.

Yes, they are fully submersible. Very good heater, you will not be disappointed.

Yeah, Ebo-Jagurs have the same line. I submerged mine all the way however...one of them is always on now, (I have it on a timer with the lights though,) and I'm questioning the thermostat's reliability, especially as it looks like there is some condensation or water inside of the unit. Where I work, we sell both Tronics and Ebo-Jagurs, the Ebo's are definitly better and if they can't hold up, I wouldn't count on the Tronics to either. You're welcome to try though, (of course,) and I'd like to hear about how it goes for you.

Anyway, in principle they are supposed to be fully submersable. It shouldn't be a problem.
