I dont think your "Wierd". Some people dont feed them on the weekends. Some poeple only feed them 2 or 3 times a week. Its what you feel comfartable with. IN the wild they only eat once in a few days, so Im told. If I skipped a day, I would feel like my fish are thinking "why is he SO MEAN to us"? Also, I feel that feeding the pellets in the afternoon curbs the Distichdus affinis (tetra related) tendency towards Fin nipping.

I use to feed mine twice a day and they wouldn't eat it all so now I feed them once a day around 7:00 p.m.

I usually feed about 3 times a day. Both fish growing well and no problems with algae or nitrates.

Once a day, with Sunday fasting.....cause mine are so super-spiritual!!!:p :D

Monday: Hikari Pellets (staple or gold)
Tuesday: Bloodworms/krill (frozen)
Wednesday: Hikari Pellets (staple or gold)
Thursday: Bloodworms/krill (frozen) -or- Ghost shrimp
(I alternate weeks between the two)
Friday: Hikari Pellets (staple or gold)
Saturday: Wardley premium cichlid flakes
Sunday: ******Fast******

I used to feed twice a day, and I used to feed flakes more often. My Blackbelt and Jack Dempsey make too much of a mess with the flakes, and I have had planarian problems. I now feed once a day and only give them flakes once a week (they love these flakes though) Eat out of my hand every time. They even recognize the can the flakes are in and get REAL excited. They aren't real big on the Hikari staple though! Seem to like the Hikari gold better.

once a day, and it depends on what time i go near the tank, they never eat at the same time. also with one day of now food at random.

It depends on the fish - schoolers once daily, with fast days; mature predators every second or third day; fry get more than one meal daily.

I've only ever fed mine once, but then again I only bought them today ;)

Flakes twice a day (either Tetramin or algae flakes), and one and a half algae wafers at night. Sometimes I give them frozen shrimp for an afternoon feeding instead of the flakes.

I feed bubba several times a day.(bubba is my oscar) A couple times a day I give him about 10 mini hakari pellets. Then I try to hand tame him and give him a few large pellets when ever I feal like it. Then at night I put in soem flakes for the shark and pleco and also wafers for the pleco.

Green Severum: 3x a day- none of the food EVER goes uneaten... He's grown quite a bit fom when I got him. He loves blood worms, spirulina flakes, betta bits, and will even try and eat the plec's algae wafers. He's got stunning colouration, so I'm pretty sure he's fine nutritionwise.

2 Bristlenose Plecos: 1 hikari algae wafer each nightly.
6 Cories & couple ghost shrimp: 3 hikari sinking wafers, because the Paradise and Pleco mooch off my little guys.
Paradise Fish: 2x a day, usually a mixture of betta bits and spirulina algae flakes.
Betta: Betta bits, and the occasional bloodworms.
6 (or so) Tiny Snails: I guess they're mooching and probably eating the plants as well. Little freeloaders hitched a ride with my order of ghost shrimp.

All it takes is one comment on an archived document and it is back to the front of the line to be rediscovered.

I feed mine every day or every other day it just depends. I have even gone a couple days without feeding them. When I do feed them I rotate between fish flakes, frozen mosquito larvae and bloodworms, live brine shrimp, vegetables, and algae wafers.

I feed my fish once a day at night. I used to feed them twice a day, but now I'm pretty lazy, but once a day is fine I think. I once in a while skip a day, but mostly I am consistent. Like someone has mentioned, fish get to eat only once every few days in the wild, so they are still get fed better in captivity.

I feed mine twice a day. when your near your tank, when you're not feeding them, do your fish swim to the side of the tank your near? i always see my fish close to me. they always seem to expect to eat
20g: 2 mollies, 1 swordtail, 2 cories, 1 ghost shrimp, 1 otto, 1 tiger barb, 1 black skirt tetra, 2 tinfoil(i think) tetras, 1 gourami

Once a day, sometimes algae wafers or shrimp pellets at night. One or two days a week fasting.
