Cloudy Water

I am in the process of starting my 55 gallon tank for S.A. cichlids. I have had the tank running for over two weeks with nothing bad to report. However, I have just added new rocks from my backyard that I boiled for 30 mins and then baked at 500 for twenty minutes. I noticed (with no fish mind you) that my water was quite cloudy. Is it the rocks, or was it just getting stale and old(I hadn't changed it in two weeks).????

The cloudy water is most likely a bacterial bloom. I would recommend partial water changes every two days, as your tank is not yet cycled.

my roommate's 10 gallon is going through the same problem, there is an almost white cloud in it, it is only cycling right now, but is this the same thing, a bacteria bloom?
