Could I safely keep a flame hawkfish with my 2 peppermint shrimp? I've heard they may go after the shrimp, but my shrimp are good size (2-2.5 inches) and the flame hawk I was looking at is about 3 inches. Anyone have any experience or input please? Thank you!

Yup,
Flame hawks love em. You are taking a chance with the hawk. I have had them in with shrimp before with no problems but on the other hand I have had them in tanks where they make nice lobster diners out of the shrimp.

Is it a flame hawk?

Like I had mentioned, I have had some with no problems and others that nailed every one of them. beatiful fish to.

Well it was suppose to be a flame hawk but he doesn have the charcteristic black marking. At the same time though he does not have the white markings or the fins of a hawaian, spotted, freckled hawkfish. So to answer your question not really sure. He is just a brillian red. At night though he turns almost pure white.
