I'm thinking of going to an LFS near work at lunch to pick up some hornwort or maybe one or two other plants.

I will have to leave these on my desk at work for four hours until I go home. They'll probably spend 5 hours in the bag in a climate controled environment.

Will the plants survive or is this too much to ask? Most time when I buy plants they put no water in the bag. Should I ask them to put some in? Will it help?

I'm out to lunch in an hour so I'd appreciate any advice I can get in that short amount of time.

Thanks

Tom

Hornwort should be fine with just a bit of water in the bag. Not enough to cover it, just enough to keep it moist. I've bought lots of plants online, and they are normally shipped bagged up in some wet newspaper--2-3 days in shipping, and no problems. Hornwort is pretty tough stuff, so I can't see where it would have a problem.

Yeah, had a bag of assorted plants in work for 8+ hours, and that was after they were brought in from the car in 10 degree weather. They did fine. Should be ok in room temp with some water in the bag, just enough to keep them moist.
