Yes, my tank is boring me.
I have a 36 gallon tank.
Here's how it's stocked:
3 young Blood parrots
2 young Geo Jurapari
2 Albino Cats
2 horse faced loaches
1 Pleco
I love my Geo's. They're always sifting gravel, or swimming where everyone can see.
The Parrots are always hiding. My tank always looks empty.
Also, when I purchased the parrots, the fish store never told me how LARGE these fish will get.
I feel as if I want to return them, I don't feel as if I'm too attached to them.
If I eliminate the parrots, what fish would you add to this tank, to make it more of a "show tank"?

Maybe some barbs? They usually stay pretty active and if you mix two or three different kinds they look pretty good. You might want to take the pleco back if it's just a regular pleco, as it will probably get too big for your tank too. What kind of catfish do you have? If they are albino cories, you should add a few more to give them a small school. If they're the albino channel cat's that a lot of stores seem to sell, they'll get too big for your tank as well.

I like my Pleco (he's like the tank mascot). The minute I shut the light, he's all over the place. When he does get too large, I'll probably have a larger tank for him.
I have the little Albino cories.
What type of Barbs are you talking about?

I too have a 36 gallon and have 5 tiger barbs, 2 green tiger barbs, 2 albino tiger barbs and 3 ruby barbs and 4 serpae tetras that look like a swarm of bees constantly moving, chasing, fighting for food, etc. They don't ever do any damage really and there doesn't seem to be a bully other than a pair of serpae's I've had for a while that constantly chase eachother back and forth. I also have 3 giant danio's that are constantly on the move. I purchased 2 green barred danio's (about the same as the giant danio's) that are just starting to get comfortable and hang out with the giant danio's. My only problem child is the gold gourami that thinks the whole tank is his and everyone else should get out. He's not brave enough to chase the giant danio's though since they're about the same size as him. Kyle

Keep the Horsefaced loaches ;) I think the barbs are great! They just pick on each other only. Get at least 6. I have tiger barbs and albino Tigers. I also have these cool barbs that look like smaller tigers but have five bars instead of four and their bodies are more slender. they are also quieter but still school with each other....

i'm having the same dilemma. I have six white clouds in my community tank (with rasboras, gold barbs, cory cats, and a gourami) and I want something a little more colorful. Maybe some rosy barbs. I'd really like to work some more blue in there to complement the fins on my flame gourami, perhaps some rams? Any suggestions?

6 or 7 tiger barbs would look great in your tank. One of the most active and best looking schooling fish IMO

rosy barbs look so nice and cute but they are listed to reach 4" so I wouldn't recommend them for your 10 or 20 Lauren unless you've got another tank in the works. KYle

Kribs! :D
Might not get along with the Geo's though. I would reccommend removing the parrots and getting a schooling fish for the top layer, and a nice centerpeice fish such as a gourami or a pair of rams. Also i would add a couple more albino cats because they like schools.
Also, while you want something a little bigger, don't get something that will outgrow your tank and stress you to either get rid of it or get a bigger tank (like the parrots are doing right now).

i have a couple of pearl gouramis and a couple of blue gouramis(3spots).
Gouramis are very nice fish. They are curious and peaceful fish.
I just find them so cute looking at them swim arround the tank swinging their whiskers at everything.
