I saw some fish in a store some distance away from my home which were labelled something like cetanoides 'double red'. They looked great but because they were busy and I wasina hurry I didn't find out more about them. Since then I have not been able to find anything i any books.

Can anyone give me clue what they are?

Most likely Apisto. cacatuiodes. They are a dwarf cichlid specie from South America.

They should be kept in 1m/2f tios, more females can be kept. Females are territorial with each other, but the male is allowed to pass freely throughout his harem. I would say a 20g is a minimum for a trio of these guys.

They get around 3'' and are generally peaceful.

http://fishprofiles.com should have a profile for them.
