anyone? they're also called a black devil catfish but I wasnt sure which name to use. Anyway, can you tell me a little about them? The profile didnt help much. What and how much should I feed them? What species' can you keep w/ them? What is their growth rate? Their temperment? Anything special I should know when keeping one? Habitat? Thanx
PS - I was planning on keeping a lima shovelnose w/ him. Would it work?
You e-mailed me this question i think. Only had chance to read, but not respond. Are you talking about a Mystus Wyckii? If that's the case, then I wouldn't chance another smaller catfish.

thanx, that planet catfish website helped a lot. I wanna get one, some people say they are rare, others say they are common. I'm gonna talk to my lfs to see if they can order me one.

They are rare. The people that say they are common are probably thinking of H. wyckioides(Asian redtail catfish). 6" specimen go for about $120. I have a huge 18"-20" specimen for sale. It is the same one shown in the pic in that Planet Catfish article. If you are anywhere near the Detroit area and want to buy it let me know.

120 bucks!!! Thats crazy, I like fish, but not that much. I haven't spent more than 20 bucks before on a fish. Man, thats the cheapest they come?

Thanx for your help. But I already read that one too. I guess I dont need anymore info on that one, its a little to expensive for me. Now I'm looking at a more common less expensive cat, the asian retailed catfish. If you have any info on that one be sure to drop me a line. Thanx

yeah, but i will not spend more than 20 bucks on a fish, thats my rule. I doubt I can find it for that. I'll try, but my second option is the asian redtail.

why have a spending limit? I mean within reason? How about up to 50 dollars? These guys live for more than 15 years, so its a GOOD investment...

I like my aquarium, but im not a fishaholic like the guys here. Also, I just called my lfs and they said they've never heard of the thing. And the owner is very knowlegebale of fish so this thing must be rare and expensive. He said he can get the asian red tail though
