I have a smallish tank and I don't have much space to accommodate gear the likes of a sophisticated CO2 setup. I've started using a small quart bottle with yeast/sugar and then I bubble that into the intake of my power filter...

I'd prefer to use pressurized CO2 cartridges and bubble that into the power filter instead. Does anyone know how I might do a discrete setup w/small pressurized CO2 cylinders to replace this sugar/yeast generator?

How small is the tank? You might want to try Flourish Excel. It's a non-CO2 carbon source that can give you roughly 1/3 the boost of CO2 . For more info about it see the Excel link on http://www.brainyday.com/jared/aquarium/info.htm under In-Depth/Fertilization & Nutrition.

Shop around, you never know... I've seen tiny CO2 tanks at this one LFS that I shop at regularly. I think maybe it was a 2 pound tank? Not sure, but it was very small.
If your tank is small, something like Flourish Excel will work, but imho, its gonna be expensive in the long run.
