hey now all!

I am hoping you all may be able to help me. I have had a 10 gallon set up for two months now, and its the home of two dwarf gouramis. They are doing very well, but one is a bit bigger than the other and tends to chase the smaller one around alot. I have provided PLENTY of cover...lots of plants lots of fake plants and I have a cave and what not.
I just don't understand their behaviour. The little one never fights back at all. Sometimes they swim together side by side and everything is PERFECT. Other times the larger one will ram the smaller one from behind and chase it. I notice this tends to happen more right after I feed them...as if the larger one is saying..."hey this my food and not yours." They sometimes sleep side by side which is very cute to observe.
Now...the smaller one has never shown signs of fin damage or scars. I did read somewhere that occasional skirmishes are ok as long as there isnt any damage done.
I am just hopign the little guy isnt constantly stressed. I have grown so attached to "puff" and "firebolt" firebolt being the little one that is a yellowish flame color, that I do not want firebolt to always have to live in stress.

whew...ok I know this has gotton logn winded...if your reading this now thanks for taking the time to read it. Any thoughts on my situation would be great.
I will go out and buy another whole tank setup if I have to for the other gourami.

I do have a three gallon eclipse. Would that be ok for the little one...i am thinking it way too small.

thanks!

take care,
Jared

If there is no damage being done i.e. fin damage, scales missing etc. They are parobably fine, as far as stress, you should be able to tell stress levels from the coloration in your fish, they usually pale when stressed, if the smaller one doesn't make it a point to hide, or avoid the other fish they are probably just having fun. Keep a close eye on the smaller fish if he stays active, eats good, and doesn't get pale all of the time I wouldn't worry. It actually sounds like it should be fun to watch if no one is getting hurt.
