What is your ph like? If it is neutral then you could do kribs, rams, apistos, and there are others.

Mabye a firemouth cichlid. They arent too aggressive. And the tetras and barbs will stay towards the surface anyways while the firemouth stakes out a territory on the bottom. He shouldnt give the cory cats any trouble as long as they dont enter his territorial area, which they will learn not to.
i vote for the kribs, rams, apisto route. keyholes are also nice looking peacefull cichlids, they get to 3-4" and a pair would be perfect for a community tank. i have a firemouth in a 55 and i think i would feel bad for him if i put him in my 29. my 29 has pretty the same setup as yours
5 rasboras
5 cories
some amano shrimp
couple kuhlis and a trio of ap. cacatu
looks nice and theres very little aggresion. the firemouth i have would tear the hell out of the smaller fish, and hes only 4" they get to 6-7"

excellent, i went by the fish store and they had some kribs in which they havent had in about 9 months so i grabbed a pair of them. I hope i got a male and a female it is a little hard to tell, they both look like males to me..
they are interesting fish

cant tell, need to wait for them to settle in and color up some.
the males are usually ALOT more colorful than the females.

aright ill wait a while to take more, are they not colorful because they are too young or because they need time to get used to their environment?

You will notice that the male krib is almost double the length of the female krib. His dorsal and ventral fins will be elongated, growing to a point. He will have a variety of colors on the fins, but his basic body color will be the same as the female's. The female is a 'shorter' fish, with two little fins under her belly that make her stomach appear bigger. The male has these too but doesn't have the same effect as the female's. Both female and male will have a purple belly, usually the female's being much much darker than the males. However these colors will not appear until they are sexually mature, and have paired up and are ready to mate.
When i bought my two kribs as babies the female was significantly smaller than the male, even at that age. Took several months for them to mature and me to realize i had a male and female pair. But looking back now it was easy to tell.
The krib in your first pic looks like a male, just because the body is longer and fins look like they are begining to grow long. Hard to tell, but i would place bets on a male. Second pic i can't really see.

The krib looks like a male to me. Has an elongated look and the head doesn't look very "feminin". A closer pic would help conferm.

Krib #1 is a male.
Krib #2, however, could very well be a female. Same age as the other krib? Hasn't really colored up but that will take a little more time. It's fins are more rounded and body appears shorter. Although, could just be a developing male.
Not sure about that one. But you at least have one male ;)

Im not really sure about the ages of either. Im hoping the second is a female so they can possibly pair up, #1 really picks on #2 constantly right now
