We actually watched them spawn for this brood. Here's the male, dutifully tending the clutch.

Very nice! Too bad it's a pain to get them past the larval stage--he's got some lovely color.

Yeah, it's so sad looking at all those little eyes, knowing that they'll get eaten. Some day....

I have 2 pairs of False Percs and a Pair of Maroons, and I can't get them to spawn. And I'm trying to!!!

They snuggled and courted for about 2 years, without doing anything. Then one day I rearranged the rockwork so that they had a deep, broad cave, and they have been spawning like clockwork ever since. Maybe try different pots?
