Cheap Sponge

I've heard stories of people using different things in their filters for cheap sponges. I have a Penguin 330 and the original catridges are starting to wear out so I think I want to try this.

What kind of stuff do you guys use and where can I find it?

hello hook,i have 2 penguins and i use aquaclear sponges with filter floss.i just stuff 2 sponges with filter floss on top and a nother sponge on top.....thier very cheap 0.89 cents apiece at pet smart....p.s. you probably can use 500's just cram them in...hope i helped
