Tank specs:
55 gallon
Aqua C Remora skimmer
rockwork and powerheads for filtration
Ammonia & Nitrites = 0
Nitrates = none detected
Ph = 8.1
temp = 77
SG = 1.024

I have a chromis, two hermits, and a conehead snail, and they're all doing fine.

I just bought a lawnmower blenny three days ago. I saw him eating at the store and they'd had him a week, so I thought he seemed healthy. He's on the small side.

It seems like each day that's gone by he is more and more shy. Today I can't find him at all. I haven't seen him eat (and there's plenty of algae for him to work on).

All he does is hide but sometimes I can see his head peering out. I thought these guys were more sociable and whenever I see them at the store, they're always chewing on the glass and flopping around. Is there something wrong with mine? Is there anything I can do?

Could I have too much current in the tank. I have two powerheads (one at each end) facing each other at a down-angle.

Thanks a lot for your help.

He may just be shy. I have a small one in my 55 with my shark and eel and hawkfish and he is usually out and about cleanin up algae. only time he hides is when its time to feed the big guys... its kinda funny, u see him pokin his head out while they eat. I had a large one but he took a plunge over the top it would seem about a week ago.. he was pretty cool. I recently picked up a bicolor blenny for my nano and all he does is hide.. NEVER comes out, but he does eat. Getting a red lip blenny this weekend, Im hoping he is more active. I would say as long as he eats he is ok.. .just let him get used to his tank mates
