Okay, I have a compatable male and female, sponge filter, live food, proper ph, good temp, but, still my male and female bettas will not breed. She's ready, he won't build a nest. I'm afraid I bought a homosexual male:)
Sorry, bad joke, but, what more can I do for these two to get them in the mood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Try placing a mirror next to the tank so that the male will see it. Sometimes seeing some "competition" will stimulate breeding behavior.

Are they bought from a breeder or a store? Most bettas sold in stores are nearly a year old, and many of them are past their prime.

How many days has it been? Give it at least 3 before interfering. Meanwhile, is the female in some sort of container so that the male can see her, but she is safe from him?

Did you add anything suitable for him to build a bubble nest on? Most bubble nests aren't free floating, they are attached to something.

Try putting a wild almond leaf (ketapang) in the tank. They are available on the internet, do a google search on "betta ketapang" and see what pops up. You could email order@majesticbettas.com or sales@ebetta2u.com. I have bought wild almond leaves from both these sources in the past.
