Ok...I cleaned out both filters, changed the carbon rocks, rinsed out tubes, hoses etc...did an almost 75% water change last night and my water is back to being cloudy. I just tested my water and the Ph level was somewhere around 3.0 (not good, i know). Ive had my tank for almost 2 months with no major changes from when I started it, I have no idea whats going on. I put in some ammonia/chloramine eliminator just now...guess ill see what happens.

Is the cloudiness due to the Ph?

How can this happen if I just rinsed out everything and did a water change? Is my filter broken? (350 magnum)

That pH is incredibly low--something is seriously wrong, I'm guessing. Anything dissolving in the tank? What's the pH out of the tap?

Is the cloudiness white? Could be a bacterial bloom, rather than any particulates from the filter.

i dont really see anything unusual floating in the water, such as particals or whatever, i think the water might smell a bit more than it usually does if that helps as a clue

Are you doing water changes with R/O water or some other purified water? If your pH is normally okay and you haven't added any new elements (chemicals, decoration) maybe the use of purified water to remove enough of the water's buffer to allow a pH crash? That's still a pretty dramatic crash though.

Was the carbon the same type you've always used? Its not something with peat in it is it?

I think something is awry with your testing--a pH of .25 would be amazingly acidic--hydrochloric acid rings in with a pH of 3. Check the kit--you may be using the wrong test, or comparing it to the wrong chart.
